Ocean Rescue Lifeguards

Hallway Photo 2The Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue Division (JBOR) serves as the premier ocean rescue and marine safety agency for the City of Jacksonville Beach. As a certified Advanced Ocean Rescue Lifeguard Agency through the United States Lifesaving Association (USLA), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards in ocean safety, emergency response, and public service.

Our team comprises over 50 highly trained personnel, at the ranks of Lifeguards, Lifeguard Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), and Command Officers. Every Command Officer holds, at minimum, a Florida EMT license, ensuring a high level of medical response capabilities.

The Ocean Rescue Division responds to both the beach's coastline and the Intracoastal Waterway, providing residents and visitors with professional emergency services year-round. While lifeguard tower staffing is seasonal and weather-dependent, Ocean Rescue maintains continuous patrol coverage through vehicle response units, year-round.

Our mission goes beyond emergency response. JBOR is deeply committed to public education, community outreach, and proactive safety initiatives. From training classes to community events, we work to provide the community with the knowledge and awareness needed to enjoy our beach and waterways safely.

Whether responding to an emergency, staffing towers, or engaging the community, the Jacksonville Beach Ocean Rescue Division is always ready to serve, protect, and educate.
