Laws and Ordinances

There are three different types of laws: 

1. Federal laws that apply to everyone in the United States. 

2. State laws that apply to people who live or work in a particular state.  For us,  we have the Florida State Statutes. 

3. Local laws that apply to people who live or work in a particular city, municipality, or town. Jacksonville Beach has city ordinances, which are local laws passed by our city council.
