City Boards
Consider being involved in the Jacksonville Beach community, making a difference and putting your skills and talents to work. Board Members attend bimonthly, monthly, or quarterly Board meetings. All qualified candidates will be considered.
Board applications are always accepted for consideration for board vacancies. Submit your application to the City Clerk:

Board of Adjustment
The Board of Adjustment hears, reviews, approves, approves with conditions, or denies variances to the terms of the Land Development Code.

Community Redevelopment Agency
The Jacksonville Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) is a five member board appointed by the City Council and is in charge of the redevelopment of two areas with the City.

Pension Boards
The City of Jacksonville Beach administers three separate pension plans: Firefighters', General Employees’, and Police Officers’ Retirement System and Fire Fighters’ Retirement System.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission serves as the Local Planning Agency as required by Florida Statutes and hears applications for development permits and amendments to the Comprehensive Plan.

Special Magistrate
The Special Magistrate hears and decides violations of the codes of the city.
