Detective Division

The Jacksonville Beach Police Department Detective Division works with county, state, and federal agencies in the investigation of complex and in-depth crimes. All detectives start their law enforcement careers as uniformed patrol officers and are assigned to the division based upon knowledge, experience, and investigative ability. They are highly trained in a number of areas to include economic crimes, homicides, and cold cases.

Detectives are assigned cases when the crime cannot be solved through traditional police efforts. Their investigations may focus on locating and interviewing victims and witnesses, collecting new evidence, and developing cases to present to the State Attorney for prosecution.

If you are a victim of a crime, a Patrol Officer will be assigned to conduct an investigation. General investigations are not assigned to detectives.
