Fines and Fees
Impound Fees
In order to reclaim a pet from Animal Control, the owner of the pet must provide the following to the Animal Control Officer:
- State ID with current address
- Current rabies vaccination record
- Receipts of payment for all fines, citations, and boarding costs
- Collar or harness and lead
Impound fees are as indicated below:

| Feeding Each Animal Per Day | $5.00/day |
Owners are required to pay all fees and fines associated with pets before they can be released home. All payments need to be made at the Jacksonville Beach Police Department. Animal Control does not accept any payments.
Civil Fines
Common violations include dogs off leash, improper animal waste disposal, allowing dogs on the beach during unpermitted times, dogs running at large, failure to keep pets up to date on rabies vaccinations, and more. All payments need to be made at the Jacksonville Beach Police Department at 101 Penman Road South (Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM, excluding holidays) or to the cashier at City Hall, 11 3rd Street North, Jacksonville Beach, FL 32250 (Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM, excluding holidays) by mail or in person. Animal Control does not accept any payments.
All fourth and subsequent offenses will require a mandatory court appearance.
Quarantined Pets
In some cases, such as an attack on a person, pets may be required to undergo a 10-day mandatory quarantine for observation of any symptoms of rabies. It is at the discretion of the Animal Control Officer to decide whether the quarantine will be completed at the pet's home or at the Animal Control facility. Animals that are the subject of a dangerous dog investigation may be held for a longer period of time pending the outcome of the investigation.
It is the responsibility of the owners to pay all fees and fines associated with pets before they can be released home, even in the case of a mandatory quarantine for their pet.
