Official City Records
The City Clerk is the custodian of the official city records. Pursuant to State Statutes, municipal records are open to the public and may be purchased from the office of the City Clerk at a cost as established by Chapter 119 of the Florida Statutes.
Chapter 119 also provides for an additional charge if the nature or volume of the records requested requires extensive research or assistance by the City Clerk's staff.
Requesting Public Records
Beginning May 15, 2023, the City of Jacksonville Beach utilizes an online submission and tracking portal to complete public records requests. The following outlines the request process:
- After submitting a request, you will be provided a tracking number and security code. You may use these two items to check the status of your request in the online portal.
- If you provided an email address, a representative of the City Clerk’s Office will contact you only if your request needs clarification or requires a payment of fees prior to fulfilling the request. You will receive an email notifying you when the records are ready for retrieval in the online portal.
While we prefer to receive requests for public records through the online portal, all requests will be processed regardless of how they are received.
